Nightmare on Dalal Street

The bulls make a killing, the bears get rich and the pigs get slaughtered.

That's what has been happening on Dalal Street this week. The SENSEX tanked and lots of people seem shell shocked except for those smug soothsayers on the Financial TV channels who change tone at the drop of a hat.

Imaginative headlines like these always amuse me.

For those who don't get the third one,

Dalal Street is the street where the Bombay Stock Exchange is located.

Halal is the Moslem ritual of cattle slaughter where the animal's throat is cut and it is allowed to bleed to death. They now seem to be extending the same courtesy to their hostages in the Middle East.
